Managing Attorney – Personal Injury / Medical Malpractice
 


Full-Time | In-Office | $120,000–$150,000
 


Position Summary
 


Kelly & Grossman LLP is seeking a Managing Attorney to lead our personal injury and medical malpractice litigation team. This role combines an active caseload with day-to-day management of attorneys and support staff, and is responsible for the team's overall performance, case strategy, and client outcomes. This is a full-time, in-office position in New York; it is not available as a remote or hybrid role. 


Key Responsibilities
 

  • Manage and mentor a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff handling personal injury and medical malpractice matters 
  • Oversee case assignments, workload distribution, and team performance 
  • Maintain and manage an active caseload from intake through trial or settlement 
  • Set litigation strategy and provide case guidance and oversight on complex or high-value matters 
  • Review pleadings, motions, and settlement demands prepared by the team 
  • Build and maintain client relationships, including handling escalations 
  • Appear in court for conferences, motions, and trials as needed 
  • Track team deadlines, deliverables, and case metrics using Clio and firm systems 
  • Participate in hiring, training, and performance reviews for the litigation team 

Qualifications
 


Required
 

  • J.D. and active license to practice law in New York State, in good standing 
  • Significant experience litigating personal injury and/or medical malpractice matters, including trial experience 
  • Proven ability to manage, supervise, and develop a team of attorneys and support staff 
  • Strong working knowledge of New York civil litigation procedure and court rules 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and client-relationship skills 

Preferred
 

  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managing attorney role 
  • Experience with Clio practice management software 
  • Familiarity with New York Surrogate's Court procedures (e.g., wrongful death estates) 

Compensation, Schedule & Work Environment
 

Salary  | $120,000–$150,000 annually, commensurate with experience 
Schedule  | Full-time, Monday–Friday 
Location  | On-site; not available as a remote or hybrid position 
Benefits  | Health insurance and 401(k) available 

The salary range above is disclosed in accordance with the New York State Pay Transparency Law. 

Compensation: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
